Saturday I went to volunteer at my local No-Kill Shelter. Yes, this is my NEW shelter where they actually care about the animals and not cushioning their wallets and pumping up their ego’s. I got to spend time with over a dozen wonderful babies and got to know quite a few of them very closely. It was a wonderful day and although I’m not a huge fan of little dogs, I did spend more time with them today, than the big babies.
Although I plan on featuring them on my blog, Homeless in Delaware, I had to share this beautiful senior girl on Pibbles & Me.
Lexus has spent all her life outside on a chain. 10 years! I just don’t understand that mentality. Lucky for her, an animal cruelty officer removed her from that awful situation and now she is at Georgetown Shelter, Delaware SPCA. I personally got to hug on and play with this girl today and although she is in a shelter, a good one I might mention, she now has a better life. What would be even better, if she could spend the rest of her life in a loving furever home, inside and allowed to sleep in bed with someone. She truly is a wonderful little girl and despite your age, she truly doesn’t act it. I was shocked she was 10 years old, despite the few wrinkles on her cute lil face, she has a slender but muscular physique.
Please find it in your heart to at least share Lexus with your friends and family. She really is a beautiful little girl who deserves a chance at a really good life and a chance to be spoiled rotten.
via Petfinder – Lexus-23 Lexus has had a hard life. She is a 10-year-old Pibble whose owner kept her tied up 24/7. That is all she ever knew until the SPCA cruelty officer removed her for cruelty and brought her to the shelter. Lexus is a sweet girl who is understandably shy but warms up quickly. And if you slowly let her get to know you, she’ll reward you with a kiss and lean on you for assurance. Lexus is ready to enjoy her golden years in a way she has never been able to enjoy life before. She is ready for someone to love her and care for her. Can you give Lexus the love she has been waiting all her life for?
If you are interested in this dog, please call the Delaware SPCA – Sussex Branch at 302 856-6361 to make sure he is still available. This information was current as of 9/12/13.
