Some Just Don’t Last Long

Toy’s that is. One thing I learned early on in my parenthood is that toys definitely do not last long with a pit bull in the house. It’s not their need to tear the living life out of the stuff toys. Nor the need to tear the rubber toys into itty bitty pieces. They truly do not know their own strength nor do they understand “If you tear it up now, you won’t have it later.”

Knowing this, when I bought Titan the DuraPlay bones, I knew they wouldn’t last long. As with almost ever toy, I have to put them up when he gets too excited over them or when I leave the house, go to bed, or shower. He’s been very excited about his blue DuraPlay bone. It last 2 days before he put his first tear in it.

Why?

Because it has a squeaker in it and he loves to try to get them out. Plus the noise it makes is somewhat like a crying bunny or squirrel (prey driven) and I think it excites him. Anyway, thought I’d share some pics of him with his new bone plus leave this as the last post of the year. I have a new theme coming up for 2013 so Pibbles & Me will go into Maintenance mode Monday afternoon.

Enjoy the pics!

  5. Madden would LOVE that. Your boy is SO cute playing with his squeaky bone!

    • I got them from DoggyLoot. They are very spongy like with a squeaker. Titan ripped the end off this one. Thank goodness they sold as a pair. :)

  6. We are lucky; when it comes to toys, Pauley is pretty easy on them. It is only when tug of war gets started with Pauley & the fosters that the toys bite the dust. Annie never has been much for toys except for hedgehogs & she usually keeps them a few months before she shreds them. At least he looks cute as he is destroying them!

    • haha You’re lucky Heather! I don’t think he ever learned as a pup to not destroy toys. He just chews on them until he can pull them apart, rip em open or what not, especially if it has a squeaker. However, his tug toys and things like that, he doesn’t tear up. Just the fluffy looking spongy type toys. :)

Woof at us ;) !
