It’s NOT My Dog!

Last night Titan and I go for our usual walk. We walk up the street to this teeny community area where there are a few trees that Titan likes to pee on. Mind you, it’s no one’s official property. Titan and I have stepped in numerous piles of dog pooh in this area, and the neighbor’s yard on the way up to this spot.

So tonight, this neighbor comes out his front door mumbling. Here’s the convo, mind you, he’s standing on his front step and I am this “community” area, not even in his yard.

Him:  ”Don’t let your dog crap in my yard.”

Hearing him mumble, “It’s not my dog doing it.” I said

Him: “What?”

“I said, It’s not my dog crapping in your yard.”

Him (still mumbling and his old lady is now standing on the step): “Well I keep stepping in it.”

“Again, it’s NOT my dog crapping here! He craps in his OWN yard!”

Him (mumble mumble mumble): “You’re there every night. Let him crap in your own yard.”

AGAIN, it’s not my dog crapping in your yard!”

So as Titan and I turn around and head back to our house, as we do almost every night, the same routine walk, I see the old lady standing in her doorway watching to see where I walk.

Well if you’re freaking observant enough to supposedly see my dog crap in your yard, BS, then you know where the hell I live!

I’m totally appalled at his accusation! I mean, how many of you follow me on twitter or facebook and have seen me posting about my neighbors Lab/mix running loose, into my yard, and crapping? Matter of fact, I think of have pics of evidence on my facebook page! (I just checked, I do! )

I am an advocate of letting your dog crap in your own yard! If it craps elsewhere, pick it up in a damn dog bag! I’m just really livid that because we walk there, same time every night, that it’s ME and my DOG?

There is a dog that wanders loosely (I’ve seen it) next to this guys house. Big dog = big pooh. There is also a dog across the street who is let loose. Small dog = small pooh. This is the crap that I see in this area! Now I know not everyone is as respectful as myself and will let their dog crap anywhere and just leave it.

In the over 2 years I’ve had Titan, he has not ONCE crapped outside of our own back yard. Matter of fact, Titan is so private about his pooh, he won’t even do it with the hubs or I watching! So YES, I’m really pissed off at the accusation! So much, I almost walked back to their house to set the record straight, however, because I was shooting laser beams out of my RED eyes, I decided not to get into an altercation.

However, now I have to worry about these idiots calling Animal Control or the SPCA and saying my dog is poohing in their yard. If Animal Control comes to my house, I’m really going to be pissed! Especially because Titan is very protective of his house, and will bark his head off and not want them in the house.

So I ask you, especially you dog owners, how would you handle this? Would you continue to walk your dog to that area? Or would you stop walking there, only making yourself and your dog look guilty of such actions?

I’m listening…………..

  1. Hi Brenda,

Purposefully accusing? Woah… So much limits there for animals and eyes are like security cams to look out for what’s happening :) Well, here it’s much peaceful and dogs well-behave :D lol…

Ugh… No… No… No more crap please dear… You posted on fan page? :O More Titan pics please ;)

    Cheers…

    • Exactly! He clearly doesn’t watch us every time we go up there or he would know it’s not Titan. Nor does he have video or pictures of the said crimes, because again, it’s not Titan doing it. Simple case of an idiot opening there mouth without knowing the facts. Just pisses me because it was a though he wanted to argue about it but stayed on his front door step. :/

Yeah, sounds like old retired neighbor syndrome- they just want to bitch to have something to do. It’ll be ok girl!

        • I don’t know how old the person is but I can understand his been about the dog crap in his yard cause I’ve stepped in it up there. However, again, don’t accuse when you don’t have facts. They might come back to bite ya in your ass and it won’t be the pit bull doing the biting. ;)

Keep walking there if you & Titan enjoy it. Fill your pockets with fake rubbery piles of dog poo & drop them here & there lol. Make a statement! Lol sometimes it amazes me how people do not “hear” when you try to be clear with them. Very frustrating I know.

    • Of course we enjoy it! :) I’m not going to stop my walk there. Titan is only guilty of peeing on the “community” trees up there, that’s it. Just one of those things, ignorance opened their mouth without having facts. Pisses me so

  3. I say keep walking there. I am waiting for this to happen to us as out of our entire neighborhood, only us & 1 other person walks their dogs, but there are several running loose. There is dog crap all over the place in our neighborhood, but again it is due to the loose dogs. We always multiple bags & do pick up :)

    • I plan on it Heather. It’s a shame though because we are the ones they see, instantly we are condemned. However, I’m the one that is always promoting cleaning up after yourself. I won’t let Titan pee on people’s mailboxes or in their yards. He will pee on lamp posts but that is county property. I am respectful of others property and we get blamed? It really tweaked my ass and I am still bent about it. There is dog crap up there, small and large, but not from my boy. Again, he only does it in his own back yard. Matter of fact, the vet tech’s and I giggle about it cause I tell them if you ever need a stool sample, let me know ahead of time cause he won’t do it anywhere else but home. :) People like this are just rude

  4. I keep meaning to tell you just how handsome Titan is! I saw his picture I think last week. I am not sure what animal control is going to do about it? Maybe you should show the man the picture you have as evidence lol. Or do a stake out and get a pic of the assailant in the act! That might be a little extreme… I might just walk somewhere else I guess, then when he doesn’t see you anymore, but still steps in poop, maybe he will know the truth. Thanks for visiting and the shoutout!

    • I don’t know if they’ll go that far to call AC or not. You may have a good idea there though, about not going and then see what they say, if anything. Kinda torn. However, I do not want AC coming and making a visit regardless. No pic, no video, no proof imo. And thank you for the compliment! I’m biased but I do think he’s a handsome lil guy. ;) Thank you for stopping by!

  5. I really wouldn’t bother about such people Brenda!

Being a dog owner I can so well relate to this, because we also have neighbors who feel that our dog dirties right outside their house and that isn’t the case. We do have a lot of stray dogs outside, who do such things, though the blame always comes on us dog owners.

I guess I would carry on going for my walks in the same area and hope that such people see for themselves some day and realize that it isn’t our dogs who are dirtying their place. :)

    Thanks for sharing. :)

    • Thanks Harleenas. That’s sad about your neighbors :( . When I had that dog messing in my yard, I blamed the dog across the street because he kept coming into my front yard. I did see him pee on my fence. That to me, is evidence. But these people have no evidence. I think I’ll continue to do my own thing. If they want to get ignorant about it, so can I. :)

  6. Hi Bren,
I would steer clear of those people because they have bigger personal problems than thinking your dog took a crap in their yard. Some people just look for things to find fault with and in my opinion it’s best to keep your distance.

P.S. Titan does not look like the type of dog that I would mess with. :)
Justin recently posted…What Kind of Thoughts Are You ThinkingMy Profile

    • Thank you for sharing Justin. You know, you may be right. They hang with the “wrong” crowd in my neighborhood and might just be looking for trouble. My hubs, I, and Titan stick to ourselves and like it that way. It just angers me that just because he sees me and Titan walking that way, we are the guilty party. Little do they know the advocate I am and that I am a firm believer of being respectful of other peoples property.

And for the record, Titan is an awesome guard dog however, introduced properly and him not feeling threatened and knowing my hubs and I are threatened, he’s a lover. He loves to play with my boss! :)

  7. Now that is just plain mean on their part. Well I had this crazy lady as my neighbor who kept accusing my dog of the littering in her yard and the thing was my dog never even went there. Still that never stopped her from complaining. So finally I got fed up and hatched a plan. I invited her for tea and had a nice chat with her about different things and after she had warmed up I introduced her to my dog. By the time she left we had became friends and she dint seem that mean.

  8. Here’s the thing about guys like this – his knickers are in a twist and his knickers will ALWAYS be in a twist. Whether he directs his nastiness at you or some other unfortunate bystander, his behavior says everything about him and nothing about you. You were right not to go back and continue the conversation – nothing you can say will untwist his knickers.

If there is a bright side to the situation, here it is: the world he lives in is a nasty place, you only had to visit for a few minutes but he’s stuck there. Stay in your world of snuggly pit bull joy. It’s much nicer.

    Cheers!

    • You’re absolutely right Laura and I appreciate your kind words. Yes, we only went by there 2 times since then and it’s just not worth it, especially considering 2 nights ago I caught my neighbor across the street walking his dog up there and in deed, let his dog take a crap there. When I road by there in the morning, there was the big pile that my yet other, ignorant neighbor left laying there. Ignorance is all around. I’m glad that I’m a responsible and respect pittie owner. :) We stand above the rest…. at least in my ‘hood. :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

I’m a bit of a snarky SOB, So I would offer this “neighbor” a bag full of my dog’s crap and tell him, that in order to alleviate his concerns, he can have it tested to see if it matches the crap he finds in his yard
    Twitter:

    • I thought about that at the time but opted to let him figure it out on his own. He did and found the guilty dog and owner :)

Woof at us ;) !
