O M G! Really?

I am totally honored that Sonia from LogAllot nominated me for this prestigious award, Sisterhood of the World Bloggers! Honestly, I don’t feel worthy of such an award. I’m totally blushing. Can you see me? hehe
Thank you Sonia…ahem… I mean SISTA!
Wow! I’ve received a couple of awards in the pass and then I shied away from them. Sometimes they are sooooo much work to accept!
However, being it’s been awhile and since it’s from my girlie Sonia, I’ll go for it! However if I nominate you, PLEASE don’t feel obligated to pass it along. Some people are anti-award recipients and will clearly state it on their blog.
Anwho………………..onto the rules!
Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award Rules
- Recipients need to thank the giver
- Post 7 things about yourself
- Pass the award on to 7 other bloggers of your choice and let them know they’ve been nominated
- Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog
Now onto some Randomness about my favorite subject… ME!
For all you Nascar fans, I drove 10 laps at the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware!
Actually, the hubs and I both did. He had his own car as well. Yes, I never was a fan of the #3, Dale Earnhardt but that’s the car they gave me. Small sacrifice to make to drive a manual trans versus and automatic. I wanted the WHOLE KIT AND KABOODLE when I drove. Unfortunately, I liked to drive the old Kasey Kahne “high line” and the spotter kept telling me to drive lower on the track. Yeah, irked me and I flicked him off on one of my laps. Cool thing about this, other than suiting up and the driving experience, was the “in-car” recording they gave us! Woot! Us, I’m very verbal as I’m driving and laughing as well!
It’s an awesome experience if you ever get a chance. BTW, you need not be a Nascar fan to do this. I LOVE of driving at 100+ mph is however, necessary

Next, and some might now, I am a Skin Cancer Survivor. It was several years ago that I found out I had skin cancer. You can read about it here, It Started With a Teeny Hole.
A few years ago, I made one of my dreams come true and started Drag Racing!Yes, this was an awesome time in my life. I bought an old ’90 Mustang that needed some TLC. The initial thought was to restore it to “show” quality, as during this time, the hubs and I were into car shows and cruising. After restoring, the need for speed kicked in. A few performance mods and I was at the track burning up the quarter-mile! This is a great hobby to get into however, it’s very expensive. Once you accomplish your goal for quarter-mile time, you want to be faster and quicker! The faster you are, the more modifications (safety and performance) are needed. My hubs enjoyed in the fun as well, not as actually driving, but as my pit crew and mechanic! Good times there! However, when we rescued Titan, we gave up the racing. The time needed for rehab and continuous training of Titan, outweighed the fun of racing. You can read more about me Drag Racing and watch a few videos here Betcha Didn’t Know.
I was an Adopted Child. My parents adopted me as a toddler. Now, I don’t know what happened to my biological parents as my father told me two different stories, but what I do know is I was dang lucky to be adopted and have such loving parents.
I married for the first time at the age of 36. And I might add, I’m glad I waited so long. During my earlier years, I played the field. I wasn’t ready to settle down. No one was good enough for me, plus I enjoyed the chase. I’m happy to say that almost nine (9) years later, I’m still married to the same man.
I’m afraid of heights, Acrophobia, but let me clarify. I’m not afraid of flying. I’m afraid of walking up steps that you can see through; standing on the edge of a cliff; ferris wheels (but not rollercoasters); and overall a fear of falling off and/or overboard as in a boat. Not sure when or where this fear came from, but it’s there!
I am claustrophobic. Oh my gosh, am I! I can’t stand tight places; places without windows; low lying ceilings; and just scared to death of not being able to escape! This is bad for when I went to Cancun, I was unable to snorkel in the caverns, MAJOR BUMMER! I did manage to go down into a bat cave, however, couldn’t stay long due to a sudden panic attack of not being able to breathe; can’t tour underground beautiful caverns (although I did as a child). I don’t know when or why this fear developed but it has hindered me in doing some activities. I do, however, try and face the fear but have not been successful at overcoming.
So now is the time I’m suppose to pass on this prestigious award to seven (7) deserving Sister bloggers, however, how do you narrow it down? These sisters are the blogs I frequent and I believe them to be very worthy of the award. Please don’t feel obligated to blog an acceptance post, as I know some really don’t like doing it, or don’t feel obligated to pass it on. Just know, I think enough of you and your blog to pass along some Sisterhood love.
Sharing the Love onto these seven (7) fabulous Sista’s!
- Latorsha at Life is Hard, Laugh Anyway
- Kita at SayWhatUWanna
- Ellen at Ellen M. Gregg’s Blog
- Vanita at After Bedtime Blog
- Lisa at Thriving Nature (yes, you don’t have to do another, unless ya wanna)
- Whitney at Cafe Mocha Reflections
- Kaz at The Daily Divination
And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn Nominees! Thank you again to Sonia at LogAllot for the Award! I’m truly honored.

women racecar drivers are too cool and wicked hot! you are on fire sista! thanks for the award. funny, i wrote a post this morning that shared 12 things about me, i would know where to dig up another 7. but thank you for passing it along to me and i am deeply honored. big hugs to you girl!
Thanks V! I don’t expect anyone to do another blog post. Just know I’m thinking of ya!
You’re leading an interesting a fun life! I love that you were a drag racer and your husband was part of your crew! Total awesomeness! We stress to our children to live and have fun, don’t marry until they definetly find the right one. Even if it means marrying later in life. I’m scared of flying and a total claustrophobic. Even closed shower curtains send me into a panic!
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
Thanks Stesha. We did live that kind of life. Once we rescued my Titan, things changed. We’re more home bodies now.
It doesn’t bother me. I did it and kicked butt. hehe Now I get more satisfaction out of knowing I’m giving my Titan the best possible home he could have and loving it!
Thank you, sweet Brenda!!
xoxo
